About Me
My name is Tanay Nathan, and I am currently a Software Engineer at Plaid on the Core Infrastructure team in New York. I am passionate about improving developer experiences and understanding complex technical problems. I have experience working on both platform and product work and consider myself fairly holistic, but nowadays, I am leaning back over to the platform side of a company.
I formerly worked at Retool in New York on the Workflows team. Formerly, I worked at Stripe on the Storage - Key Value Infrastructure team, the Core Models team, the Commerce - Orders team in both the San Francisco and New York offices. On the Storage team, I worked on reliability, security, and scalability of our MongoDB cluster, working on projects such as multi-region, splitting large database shards, and developing a database monitoring plane and control plane. During my time on the Core Models and Commerce teams, I worked on designing APIs to better suit e-commerce users, such as updating the Products and Prices APIs to add multi-currency capabilities and developing a new API integration called Orders. I studied computer science at UC Berkeley from 2014 to 2018. Below are links to some of my social media accounts.
